Biography:

Lt Colonel Charles Worth Blount was born in 1721 in Chowan County, North Carolina, the child of John and Elizabeth. He married Mary Clayton Skinner Blount and they had many children together. He then had one son with Mary Clayton. He then had one son and two daughters with Mary Clayton. 

Charles Worth Blount was Sheriff of Chowan County, North Carolina in 1755 and 1756, and his brother Joseph was Sheriff in 1757.
He was a member of the Rebellious Assembly at New Bern in 1746. Came to Assembly from Edenton in his sloop bringing John Craven, John Benbury, and Petter Payne. He was Chairman of the Comm. of Safety 1776. Judge Admiralty Court, Member Vestry, St. Paul's, Edenton. Commissioner to finish St. Paul's Church and to build Chowan County Court House. He acquired about 1740, lived and died at "Blount Place" on west edge of Edenton, now Cheshires Hill.

Lt Colonel Blount died in 1784 in North Carolina, at the age of 63, and was buried in the Baptist Church Cemetery, Bethel, North Carolina.
